LEWISTON, Idaho – The Warrior women had a tough Saturday with contests against NCAA Division I Montana and DIII Whitman. After falling to Montana in the morning contest, LC State bounced back to defeat the Blues 5-2.
 
MATCH ONE: Montana 7, LC State 0
Anne Mathema and Yelena Kim took home a victory in doubles, but the Lewis-Clark State Women's Tennis team lost to NCAA Division I opponent Montana 7-0 in the LCSC Tennis Center.
 
Mathema and Kim earned the win in No. 2 doubles versus Olivia Oosterbaan and Maria Goheen 6-4.
 
Kim was able to take the opening set of No. 1 singles against Oosterbaan 6-4 before dropping the second set 6-0 and the third-set tiebreaker 10-6.

MATCH TWO: LC State def. Whitman 5-2
The Warriors took four of the six singles matches en route to a 5-2 victory over Whitman to close out the weekend on a positive note.
 
The victory improves the Warriors' record to 4-5.
Kim won both of her matches starting with a No. 1 doubles victory with Mathema 6-3. Kim then handled Julia Longpre in No. 1 singles 6-3, 6-1.
 
Lina Boylan made quick work of Irene Tsai 6-1, 6-1 in No. 2 singles. Maria Eduarda Santos da Silva in No. 4 singles and Ines Steeman in No. 6 singles were also victorious.
