LEWISTON, Idaho – The Warrior women saw their winning streak snapped on Monday at the hands of NCAA Division I Idaho State.
LC State is now 10-8 on the season.
"I'm glad we faced this team before our Kentucky trip over spring break," assistant coach Ryan LaPlante said. "We know what we need to work on. The women will be fired up and ready to go for all four away matches next week."
Yelena Kim had the most successful day for the Warrior women. The freshman pushed Idaho State's Hana Cho to three sets in No. 1 singles and took the opening set 6-3. Her opponent from ISU took the second set before edging Kim in the third.
"Yelena had a very close two-hour match before falling to ISU's Hana Cho," LaPlante said. "It was a big improvement for Yelena compared to her results against Hana from January."
Kim teamed up with April Buckingham in No. 1 doubles for the closest match. They fell 6-3 to the duo of Lola and Sol O'Lideadha.
