MARION, Ind. – Idaho natives dominated at the final day of the 2024 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships with four All-American honors. Carter Gordon earned his second of the week, London Kirk and Jennah Carpenter repeated national honors, and Madigan Kelly earned the first of her career.

"With a lot of our athletes in their events, we talk about a slow build as they progress through the competition, trying to get bigger, better and faster as they go. I would say that this meet went exactly like that," Head Coach Mike Collins said. "It kind of started the first day, not quite where we wanted to be, but not bad. The second day was better, and we definitely had a great final day."

Gordon had the best finish for LC State on the day with a fifth-place mark in the 800m. After running the anchor leg of the third-place 4x800m relay on Thursday, the senior from Coeur d'Alene ran a time of 1:51.21 in the individual event.

Carpenter earned her fifth All-American honor in the high jump with her third outdoor accolade. The junior from Lewiston cleared a height of 1.71m to tie for sixth place.

Lewiston native Kelly earned the first All-American honor of her career with a seventh-place finish in the 100m hurdles. The junior ran a time of 13.91.

Deary's Kirk ran an LC State record time to earn his third All-American accolade in the 400m. He clocked in at 46.80 to place seventh.

Sophomore Trenton Johnson leapt a distance of 14.62m in the triple jump. He finished 15th in the field.

In all, LC State earned All-American honors in six events with a total of 10 individuals earning national accolades.

"Two years ago, we made a change in team philosophy, and our goal became to bring home as many All-Americans as we possibly could," Collins said. "It is great to see how well these athletes have adapted to that change and really focused themselves on peak performance as well as helping their teammates. Excited about the future and very grateful for this team."
