Box Score LA GRANDE, Ore. – No. 10 LC State Women's Basketball dropped its Cascade Conference opener on Friday in La Grande against (RV) Eastern Oregon. The Mountaineers used a strong defensive presence to limit the Warriors to 52 points in the 63-52 loss.
"An extremely physical game where we struggled to score the ball," coach
Caelyn Orlandi said. "I was extremely proud of Kendall (Wallace), Camden (Barger), Ella (Nelson), Ellee (Brockman) and Lindsey (Wilson) for their defensive efforts tonight. They cut the game to four points in the second half, and they did an excellent job for us today. We have to be ready to compete from the tip tomorrow against a very talented College of Idaho team."
The loss has the LC State record at 6-3 overall and 0-1 in CCC play.
Full stats for the contest were not available Friday night.
The Warriors were held to eight points in the first quarter and 10 in the second for a 26-18 deficit at the half. LC State found an offensive spark with 3-pointers by Wallace and Brockman in the third frame, but EOU defended well in the final 10 minutes to limit the LC State offense once again.

Paytom Hymas led the Warriors with 13 points on a 5-for-10 night from the field and
Darian Herring added 10 points. Herring and
Sitara Byrd each grabbed six rebounds.
Kendall Wallace had nine point with four steals.
UP NEXT
The Warriors head to Caldwell on Saturday to take on (RV) College of Idaho. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. PT.
