RESULTS
LEWISTON, Idaho – LC State Women's Tennis picked up its second straight victory on Saturday with a 6-1 win over NCAA Division III Whitman. The Warriors swept doubles play before taking five of six singles matches.
Luciana Marzani and
Heidi Moyo made quick work of their opponent in No. 3 doubles with a 6-0 sweep. Both
Paige Noble-Lucas and
Beatriz Lambru (No. 1) and
April Buckingham and
Ana Govea (No. 2) won their matches 6-3.
The top three singles matches went to three sets with LC State taking the top two matchups.
Rayana Shah took the first frame of No. 1 singles 6-4 and dropped the second 6-3. She battled back with a quick 6-0 third set.
Carisa Liebenberg opened her No. 2 singles contest with a 6-2 win before a 6-1 loss. She evaded a tie break with a 7-5 win in the third frame.
Govea and Marzani each defeated their counterparts in straight sets. Govea took the No. 4 singles matchup 6-2, 6-4 and Marzani won No. 5 singles 7-5, 6-3.
In her collegiate debut,
Sonam Chuki Dorji picked up a victory in No. 6 singles. The freshman won a tight first set 7-6 (7-2) and worked a quick 6-0 second set for her first win.

The Warriors are in Moscow on Sunday to face NCAA Division I Idaho at 3 p.m.
