LA GRANDE, Ore. – A small group of Warriors opened competition at the Lew Thorne Invite hosted by Eastern Oregon on Friday and triple jumpers
Sydnie Zywina and
Trenton Johnson highlighted the afternoon with a pair of national standards. The women's distance medley relay had a successful run and improved upon its national standard in its win.
Zywina and Johnson won their respective triple jump events to kick off the meet at EOU. Zywina cleared a distance of 12.01m for an A standard. Though just short of her season-best mark of 12.02m, today's mark would rank fourth in the NAIA. Johnson jumped a season-best 14.39m for a B standard that ranks in the top 20.
