LEWISTON, Idaho – Warrior Women's Tennis, receiving votes in the national poll, faced a tough opponent in NCAA Division I Eastern Washington to open the 2026 season. Junior
Carisa Liebenberg picked up the lone point for LC State with her first singles win of the season.
Two of the three doubles matches were decided by a score of 7-5.
Lulu Monnayoo and
Rylie Gettmann made their LC State debut as the No. 1 doubles pairing, and
Rayana Shah and
Sonam Chuki Dorji battled at the third spot in the close contests.
Liebenberg pushed her No. 6 singles match to three sets to earn her victory. She dropped the first before battling back for a 3-6, 6-3, 10-8 win.
Senior
Naiara Montero also forced three sets after taking the first in her No. 4 singles match. She fell 4-6, 6-4, 6-1, while
Gwyn Heim was edged 6-4, 6-4 in No. 3 singles.
