Kuzmic, who is from Nampa, Idaho, won the Idaho State Class A-1 Division 2 cross country title her senior year at Vallivue High in 2000 and led her team to the state title.

At LC State, Kuzmic made her mark in track when she became the first LC athlete to ever win an NAIA national title when she won the women's marathon in 2005. She finished the race in 2 hours, 57 minutes and 56 seconds, which still stands as a school record. What made the feat so remarkable was that it was the first time she had ever competed in a 26.2-mile marathon. The course was five laps and she took the lead almost instantly. She then held about a 3-minute advantage over the second half of the race. She later tried out for the 2006 United States Olympic team.

Kuzmic earned two NAIA All-American cross country honors when she placed 17th at the national meet as a sophomore and then was 16th her senior year.  She holds the seventh fastest cross country time in school history and still has the school record for the fastest time by a freshman.

Kuzmic lives in Florida where she is a nurse.
